Source of information
Two print sources were used for the information for New Hope Cemetery as it appears on these web pages. Mrs. Luther Chance and Mrs. Roy Smith submitted data in August of 1974 for inclusion in first volume of records published by the Williamson County Historical Commission. In July of 1983 Lurlene Ward "surveyed and updated" data from New Hope Cemetery. Her work appeared in the third volume of the published work. Their works were published by the Willamson County Historical Commission as:
Williamson County Historical Commission.(WCHC). (1975). Williamson County Cemeteries.Vol. I.
Williamson County Historical Commission.(WCHC). (1986?). Williamson County Cemeteries.Vol. IIIB.
Using these sources, Fayle Eder entered the data into software for this online project.
The data represent the source document as closely as possible. While measures have been taken to insure accuracy, mistakes may exist. Please report errors to Rebecca Osborne.
Permissions to use
Permission to use the above referenced material was given to me by vote of the Williamson County Historical Commission on 5/6/99. Contact Rebecca Osborne for further information or to obtain permission to use materials that are copyright protected.
Directions to cemetery
These directions are included with the original work of Mrs Chance and Mrs. Smith. "7 miles south of Leander near Highway 183."
New Hope Cemetery is located on the west side of 183, ____ miles north of the 620/183 intersection.
Information as it appears in the WCHC's print source
In 1974, Mrs. Chance and Mrs. Smith included this comment, "Summary: 70 unmarked graves, 194 marked graves for a total of 264 graves."
